Rubin talks about working at Ford
And do you remember if there were any women working alongside you?
No, no, in my department we never have…well, I can’t remember now. You could be right there but not very much women. We have a key-holder lady who supply keys, and a canteen. But I don’t think we have women near us.
On the assembly line?
Now I think they might have more women now because they do the seats of the car and they do the tail, machinists. I’ve never been that side. I’ve never been over that side.
You wouldn’t need to go to the machinist’s part, I guess, if you were on the assembly line?
When that finish they all go over the other side. They have different job and when the job finish, the rough part finish, they have the sewing. Women work that side. Where the seats, or whatever, is. We don’t work that side.
