Doreen talks about working in catering

I wanted to get into a firm where I felt comfortable. You know I felt comfortable when I worked for Lyons Corner house.  I worked for Lyons Corner house in Stratford until they transferred me to up the city. And I loved that because I was working on cutting the buns and putting the cream in it, things like that, I like anything like that.

You weren’t on the counter?

I had been on the counter when we did dinner, salads and all that, yes.

Because my mother used to take me in that one and I always watched the ladies pouring the tea, they lined all the cups up.

You had to go like that, yes.

You wasted as much as you poured.
