Trialing the walking tours

Alison has been working exceptionally hard to take forward the oral history work, and sometimes this has meant working on transcripts when volunteers have been unable to take it forward. The range of interviews is diverse, and we believe it will be really valuable and inspiring testimony to working lives in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s.

We were a little apprehensive about piloting the walking tours for Heritage Open weekend, but we were pleased to find the public was interested and even had waiting lists for some tours!

The classroom guide has been completed, and we are waiting to receive printed copies of the walk map before we send this out to local schools who have expressed an interest.
