Despite staff holidays, a busy August, with a focus on research

Alison is working hard supporting oral history interview collection. The transcriptions are as time consuming as envisaged, but worthwhile, and we will be feeding some of this back to Autumn community events! Great to have the FindMyPast subscription approved by the Heritage Lottery Fund, as it is making research on who lived in the local streets, and what their occupations were, so much easier and quicker. There’s been volunteer training on this, and some volunteers have met up as a group a couple of times for their own research sessions. Matilde’s template for populating past resident research by street is really easy to use, and we are starting to gain a picture of the trades and occupations of Stratford Village all those years ago.
