Introducing this website

This website provides information on our Heritage Lottery funded project, Discovering Stratford Village. Here you can browse through photos, memories, stories and historical information relating to the working lives and working community of ‘Stratford Village’, researched by local volunteers and residents in 2017 and 2018.

The ‘Village’ is an area of  Victorian ‘two up-two down’ houses largely built between 1892 and 1894 covering nine streets to the south of the Olympic Park in London, bordered by Romford Road, West Ham Lane and Vicarage Lane.

The blog shares the development of the project over two years.

This website was created by a group of volunteers. We’re always interested in new recruits, so if you’re interested please contact us.
